Minister of Sports and Youth Sabah official visit at Sarawak Sports Corporation

KUCHING – The Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) had recently hosted an official visit from delegates headed by the Minister of Youth and Sports Sabah, YB Phoong Jin Zhe.

During his visit here, he was attended specifically to Sarawak Sports Corporation briefing on its continuous efforts and initiatives in supporting the State Government’s vision of turning Sarawak into the Sports Powerhouse in Malaysia.

During the briefing, Dr. Ong Kong Swee, Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Sports Corporation and Director of Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) shared that Sarawak Sports Corporation is committed towards its vision, mission, values and functions. The briefing emphasized on  knowledge sharing and strategic ideas amongst The State Ministry of Sports and Youths Sarawak and Sabah, Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS), Sabah State Sports Council and Lembaga Sukan Sabah into a look forward of establishing the East Malaysia Sports Commission.

Comprehending the role and function of Sarawak Sports Corporation in promoting and intensify the application of modern sports science and management at providing venues and facilities for the world class athletes in the various sports fields and games, YB Phoong Jin Zhe applauds SSC on its organizational structure and the initiatives taken in boosting the pace of sports development in Sarawak.

In conjunction with his official visit, YB Phoong and delegates has been ushered for facilities tour which includes visiting at Pandalela Rinong Aquatic Centre, Sarawak Indoor Stadium, Shooting Range, and Sarawak Stadium.

Another VIPS and queast present at the event was YB Arunarsin bin Taib, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Sabah; Neldin Gibang, Deputy of Permanent Secretary, Dr. Tan Kah Hock, President of Sabah Sports Council and Thirty-six others.
