SMK Tabuan Jaya win MSSM Kuching Track and Field Development Championship 2017

SMK Tabuan Jaya emerged overall champion in the MSSM Kuching Track and Field Development Championship 2017 at Sarawak Stadium, Petra Jaya

KUCHING: Sarawak state sports school – SMK Tabuan Jaya emerged overall champion in the recent MSSM Kuching Track and Field Development Championship 2017 which ended at Sarawak Stadium, Petra Jaya on 21st September.

The 49 athletes from the school bagged a total of 30 gold, 23 silver and 11 bronze medals to dominate the 3-day event which started on September 18. A total of 802 students from 40 secondary schools in Kuching Division took part in the event organised by Malaysia Schools Sports Council and is aimed at unearthing new talents to represent Kuching in the coming MSSM Inter-Division Development Track and Field Championship 2017. Categories competed were Boys/Girls U17, U14 and U13.

SMK Lundu finished second with 17 gold, four silver and nine bronze medals Chung Hua Middle School No 1 claimed the third spot with six gold, two silver and six bronze medals. St Joseph’s Private Secondary School, fielding 44 athletes, ended their campaign in fourth place with five gold, 12 silver and five bronze medals.

They were followed by SMK Batu Lintang (4-8-7), SMK Green Road (4-3-3), Lodge Secondary School (4-2-3), SMK Santubong (3-5-4), SMK St Joseph (2-2-6) and SMK Bau (2-2-6) in fifth to 10th positions respectively.
