Introduction

Formerly known as Sarawak Aquatic Centre, the state-of-the-art swimming and diving facility was renamed by Sarawak State Government as the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre. It is in honour of Malaysia’s diving queen, Pandelela Rinong Pamg who had won medals in the Rio 2016 Olympic and London 2012 Olympic Games.

 

The aquatics centre is located at Sarawak Sports Complex in Petra Jaya, Kuching with the construction in accordance to international standards to host the 2016 Malaysian Games (SUKMA) and 2017 SEA Games. The facility consists of an Olympic-size competition pool; diving platforms; training and leisure pools.

 

All pools were built in compliance with the latest International Swimming Federation (FINA) standards 2013-2017 and were approved by the Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (ASUM).

 

The vast swimming complex includes ample parking spaces; office spaces; a conference room; a control room; a LED screen; a boulevard; a celebration area; a media cum information centre and boasts a seating capacity of 2,070.

Advance booking is required for those interested to use any of the facilities available at the Padelela Rinong Aquatic Centre and any inquiry can be directed to the Marketing Unit of Sarawak Sports Corporation.
