KUCHING: The recent National Cycling Specific Coaching Level One Course held at Sarawak Stadium, Petra Jaya on Dec 18 had attracted 30 participants .
The course was jointly organised by Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS), Sarawak Cycling Association (SCA), Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) and National Sports Council (NSC).
The course was conducted by Suod Hussain, Eddie Norshamshidi Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Yusoh and Dr Chin Ngien Siong, the sports science instructor from National Coaching Academy of Malaysia.
The course was aimed to provide the participants with practical, theoretical and scientific aspects of coaching in cycling.
According to the course coordinator, Ahmad Jumry Kassim SSC together with MSNS are committed in increasing the number of qualified coaches to run cycling events, development programmes and provide on-going coaching support to all dedicated cyclists in Sarawak.
Meanwhile, SSC chief executive officer, Dr Ong Kong Swee had thanked all participants for their commitment and support in this course as they need to capitalise on their knowledge and competencies to further accelerate the development of cycling in Sarawak.
